Insurance Customer Service Representative

Position Overview
Responsible for selling SELCO Group's products and services while providing assistance to prospects and existing insurance clients.
Essential Functions
Communicate with internal, external, and potential members in a friendly, professional manner in person, over the phone, and via e-mail.
Actively engage with people in a respectful and professional manner.
Update client and insurance information with the insurance companies and in SELCO Group's insurance software system.
Generate insurance sales through internal referrals and service existing policies.
Finalize insurance sales by ensuring appropriate documentation is accurately completed in a timely manner.
Perform various administrative duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Prepare and distribute letters and memorandums; sort, open and distribute mail; file documents; send and receive faxes; make photocopies; order supplies; data entry; and edit forms and other official documents as requested; facilitate meetings with team members.
Adhere to federal and state regulations, company policies, and other compliance obligations.
Consistently achieve stated goals.
Participate in required meetings and training.
Demonstrate leadership skills and maintain corporate values and mission statement.
Represent the Company with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Support Management and member decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
Actively participate in security, robbery, disaster recovery and fire training.
Actively contribute to Company and department team goals and functions, including but not limited to, initiating resolution of observed or known issues concerning other departments and championing other departmental changes that will benefit the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Vice President Insurance Services
Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with some background noise.
Material and Equipment Used
Computer, Fax Machine, Copier, Scanner, Telephone, Calculator, General Office Supplies
Physical Activities Required To Perform Essential Functions
Sitting/Mobility:
Approximately 80% of time is spent working at a desk. Balance of time (approximately 20%) is spent moving around work areas.
Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, members and outside agencies in writing, in person, over the phone or through other mediums.
Vision:
Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, memos and other appropriate paperwork.
Lifting/Carrying:
Ability to transport files and office supplies.
Stooping/Kneeling:
Ability to access files/stock supplies in low cabinets and shelves.
Reaching/Handling:
Ability to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.
Proficiencies
Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, over the phone or through other mediums.
Ability to learn and competently use SELCO Group's insurance software system.
Ability to learn and apply each insurance company's underwriting and application processes.
Strong analytical ability with active listening skills.
Strong word processing and computer database skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively cross-sell Credit Union and CUSO products and services.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; and
At least two (2) years of customer service and sales experience; and
Possess a valid property & casualty license (this requirement may be waived for first 90 days of employment); and
Must be bondable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
