Non-ExemptTHE POSITION Westside Commons, formerly the Fair Complex, is a 100-acre multi-purpose year-round facility that is home to the annual , and a variety of public and community events.
Westside Commons is looking for a General Services Aide who will deliver outstanding customer service and assist with the set up and tear down of events.
In addition, they would assist with the on-going building, janitorial, and basic grounds maintenance of the entire facility.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, organized, and possesses a high level of customer service.
They have some experience working in a public facility, have basic experience with janitorial/custodial, and basic grounds maintenance.
Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform daily custodial work; clean floors, restrooms, and facilities as needed; mop wax and buff floors, clean windows, restock restrooms and cleaning supplies, clean barns, stalls, and empty trash.
Assist staff in non-maintenance tasks related to the events and the county fair such as hanging signs and banners, cleaning and setting up livestock barns, setting up tables, chairs, parking control, and moving furniture.
Perform landscaping such as:
mow lawns, weed, trim shrubbery, water lawns, apply fertilizer, pick up trash, and clean parking lots and walk-ways.
Provide customer service to clients and patrons utilizing the facilities for events.

Schedule:
The shifts vary based on the needs of the events scheduled at the facility.
Leading up to and during the annual Washington County Fair event, hours scheduled will exceed 8 hours in a day and 40 hours in a week.
The Washington County Fair takes place at the end of July each year.

Qualifications:
Equivalent of a high school diploma AND One (1) year of experience that includes driving a vehicle and performing related general labor duties in an office, retail, or warehouse setting.

Some positions may require the possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record.
Some positions may require the completion of a detailed statement of personal history and successful completion of a criminal and personal history background check.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
