Our client has a brand-new opportunity for a Lab Compute Level 3 (L3) Technician to join their team onsite in the Hillsboro, OR area.
This Technician will be providing first-level support, with basic general network troubleshooting, directly with two labs.
This role will require a candidate with great communication skills, be flexible, and able to multitask support requests coming from customers.
In addition, this candidate will need to demonstrate basic knowledge of Windows.
Scope of Activity and
Responsibilities:
Basic or entry level networking troubleshooting.
Basic or entry level OS / SysAdmin knowledge, Windows, and Linux (general knowledge) Basic familiarity with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches Cisco POAP (automated provisioning) Ansible and / or AWX Complete required training (hazardous materials, data center safety, etc.
) Basic understanding of Windows Server OS's (2008R2, 2012R2, 2016) Basic understanding of Command Prompt and network troubleshooting commands Occasionally handle cabling within the racks Rolling fibers Changing polarity Troubleshooting layer 1 connectivity Identifying defective transceivers Identifying defective cables Identifying defective switches Providing physical touch and console access to remote NetOps team members Opening Cisco TAC tickets and working them to resolution Occasionally need to be willing to wear a hardhat and other protective gear due to construction Need to be able / willing to stand on your feet in a datacenter for extended periods of time Skills and
