For information about ABM's benefits, visit ABM 2023 Employee Benefits Staff & Management Responsibilities Completes assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly rounds and inspections Develops and maintains a high level of proficiency in at least one of the above trades and is generally well-verses in several the above general building trades.
Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities are performed in a neat workmanship like manner.
Inventories, requisitions materials, tools and supplies needed for the facility.
Works according to the schedule prepared by the supervisor and/or lead.
Evaluates and prioritizes all priority one breakdowns and responds to calls for repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime.
Monitors and communicates to lead or management any information affecting customer relations with contract.
Thoroughly and accurately completes reactive and preventive maintenance paperwork.
Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary for the well-being and protection of the environment, property and occupants, in accordance with contractual obligations.
Ensures that all ABM and customer work rules are followed.
Maintains all required ABM logs and ensures reports are completed correctly and submitted by all assigned personnel in a neat, organized and timely fashion.
Assists in emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.
Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition.
Learns, understands and complies with fire, safety and other emergency practices.
Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe.
Learns, understands and complies with all company and customer policies.
Participates in training directed at increasing job-related skills and assists in training of other employees as directed.
Requirements High school or technical school graduate two or more years' maintenance experience with facilities and industrial equipment.
Non-license position.
Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance.
Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to keep simple records of activities performed and complete basic reports.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
